Kat and Mike - Dellwood Country Club
Kat and Mike.
I met Kat sometime in 2007 or 2008. We had a mutual friend who worked at a retail store with me. I’m not exactly sure how we were introduced. I had just started taking photography more seriously and had bought a set of lights and started renting a studio space in Minneapolis. Kat agreed to come sit in front of my camera and let me try to learn studio lighting. Fast forward to 2018 and I’m lucky enough to photograph her wedding and engagement shoot.
I met Mike when we did their engagement shoot in California. I’ll probably blog those photos another time. Mike is such a treat to be around. They both are, really. They are super kind and like to smile and laugh. They compliment each other so well.
It’s really cool to look at how far Kat and I have come since we were a couple of young adults in a basement studio doing some moody photo shoot and not knowing where our lives would take us.
Their wedding was at Dellwood Country Club in Dellwood, Minnesota, near White Bear Lake. I’ve shot there before but this was the best lighting that I’ve had and arguably the easiest couple I’ve ever photographed.
I could go on and on about how Mike looks like a model for Colgate or how Kat’s eyes are actually like a Cat, but I’ll shut up and let you look at these photos.
